Winter Island, Salem, MA

Recorded ~25' from stage, DFC

Equipment: Sony ECM-909 Stero Microphone > Sony D6

Lineage: Master Cassette > CDR > EAC > WAV > Cool Edit 2000 > SHN

Taper's Notes: Xfrd from master cassette to CD via a Sony single well
cassette deck > Tascam Pro CDRW5000. Track Indexes
were made by hand, so they are NOT perfect.
-Best Regards, Mike Ahern

Other Notes: Songs were extracted from the original CDRs with Exact
Audio Copy (correct offset, secure mode, no errors). Since
the tracks were incorrectly split, I re-cut them using
Cool Edit 2002 and verified sector boundaries with shntool
before compressing them to SHN with MKWAct (ver 0.97 Beta 1).

Thank you Mike for sending me this show!!!!

Comments: This was an outdoor show. It rained the entire day, and
into the evening. Thousands of us stood there in a giant,
muddy field in the pouring rain while the band came
onstage and tried to get their various electronic equipment
working properly.

Toward the end of FZ's comments in d01t1, he orders the
rain to stop. Less than halfway into Zoot Allures, the
rain did, indeed, stop. The clouds cleared up, and
the remainder of the show was played under a bright
moon with lots of twinkling stars.

Given the flaws noted below, this is still a fine recording
of an excellent show. The only other copies of this show I've
that were so muddy that they were barely listenable. -Ted
