| Notes | This show was the first night of the Songs: Ohia / Early Day Miners Spring 2002 tour. Good turnout for this show, with about 125 people in attendance. Space 101 is a large, open room with hardwood floors. It has a nice sounding natural reverb to it. Its located on the second floor above a sandwich shop. This show happened to be on the same night that Indiana Univerity won the NCAA semi-final game in order to advance to the finals. On the streets below, there were thousands of college students celebrating the victory. Jason makes reference to this once or twice during the show. The PA system used at the show was average at best. Jason's vocals could of benefited with a bit more high range on the EQ - his voice sounds a bit heavy in the mid range. As for the show itself, Jason was in fine form. Highlights include covers of Townes Van Zandt's "The Tower Song" and the traditional song "Omie Wise". The latter then segues into "Whip-Poor-Will" (aka Southern Cross Hotel). |
