Having never seen/heard Banyan and seeing them at Quixote's in Denver, I expected some kind of folksy Deadhead-type hippie band. I was quite surprised! The sound on this recording is very good. My primary complaints are that the bass is too low in parts (it's a small venue) and when an unknown rapper/singer takes the stage during one track of set 2, it sounds like his microphone may have had a short as there are a number of clicks and pops while he's on stage. Other than that, the music is very interesting. They are definitely NOT a folksy Deadhead-type hippie band. Enjoy! -Les |
