Notes sbd [2006-10-12]This was the 1st show I saw while living in Berkeley (last show being BMH June 76). It was the first time I had been bored at a live dead show. I could not understand why the audience seemed so excited about the show. Listening to this sbd recording indicates why. Up until Terrapin the show consists of lackluster delivery of disconnected, uninteresting tunes. The Terrapin and PITB are short, lacking any improv to make the night special. Wharf Rat actually had some emotion behind it and was teh highlight of the night, then Truckin' starts with Bob blowing the whistle to get the marching band together. The cheese programing the crowd kicks in. Lame. This is one date you can skip. The sound quality and mix are quite good.
