Cassandra Wilson   04/15/1999

Symphony Hall, Boston, MA
Media shn   1 disc
Notes AUD
J-Card Comment (from notes on the shn disc) This is a VERY nice recording of the complete concert. There are no
microphone bumps or digi-noise or other such maladies. The rating is
based on the fact that the taper was not positioned exactly in the
"sweet spot"; there is just a HINT of "distance."

The first half of the concert concentrates on material from the
then-new "Traveling Miles" album, Cassandra's tribute to Miles Davis.
The songs which are drawn from Miles' repertoire, and which are not
standards or popular songs associated with Miles (like Cyndi Lauper's
"Time After Time"), have the original titles appearing in parentheses
after Cassandra's new title. Her titles indicate that there are now
lyrics, where there were none previously.

The second half of the show includes a couple of Cassandra's most
celebrated covers from previous albums - blues from the pens of Robert
Johnson ("Come On In My Kitchen") and Son House ("Death Letter").
