| Tech Notes | -SHN data received from shnapster via Lee (aka Navels), who was also kind enough to provide the AUD source. -Crispy matrix, solid show. At times Healy is playing with the mix between AUD and SBD such that the AUD becomes very prominent. Edits: -All editing completed with Cool Edit 2000, followed by shntool to correct SBE's and mcwACT to encode to seekable shorten. -Edits consisted of cleaning up diginoise, drop outs and transitions, and making fades. -I used AUD patch and inter-source data to correct errors. -AUD patch was pitch-corrected (resample ratio 100-101) with CE2K to match speed and pitch of this primary source which is Dead-in tune (A=440Hz). Corrected Errors: (1)01:13 diginoise; 01:27 d.n.; 02:09 d.n.; 02:49 d.n. (2)02:51 drop out (3)0:04 d.o. (4)Transition between Drums and Space Non-corrected Errors: (5)05:14 through end of show, change in source. Not sure exactly what's going here, but it sounds as if the stereo image was corrupted to mono (you can still here both Weir & Mydland), and maybe the SBD portion of the matrix was lost? I experimented with replacing these tracks with the AUD patch, but the exisiting source still sounds fine, so I left it alone. |
| J-Card Comment | This was the notorious Spring Tour riot show...anyone know what happened? yeah I remember that. I remember coming out of the show are the were tons of cops everywhere, barracades and all sorts of stuff. i dont remember what happened for sure , but I think that people were trying to rush the gates. I had fun at these shows anyways. They allowed camping in certain parking lots and we had a blast. thx for the seed This Shakedown is hot.The Foolish Heart is nice also. I got into this show for free because my friend who had a ticket was forced in during a gatecrash. He handed the ticket over the turnstile and voila, in. I missed Iko and Rooster I think. I seem to recall a cop having a Head up againest a wall in a stranglehold. My memory is a blur...can't remember too much about this day. I did buy Deadbase II in the parking lot and life has never been the same since. Ah the good old days of mystery and wonder. The tension definitely affected the band's performance subliminally, I believe. Or perhaps it was something I ate once I got in. I should also add that the GD organization made a mistake by having a spring tour with only 2 shows within close proximity of the Northeast. I mean, what were they thinking? Of course people are going to converge on this show and cause problems. They never made that mistake again. Wow! If you look at the spring tours from the mid'80' thru '95'. this is THE VENUE for all of the North-Eastern fans to come to on the 'Spring 89' tour. Greensboboro and Pittsburg were the closet they came . And like the previous poster stated. This would be they last time they made the error of missing the East Coast on Spring Tour. I remember at will call just prior to the 4.15.1989 show seeing about 5 police officers surrounding a "wookie"ish Dead Head who was on the ground. The police were yelling at him. They didn't per se rough him up, but they did arrest him. Also, I remember after the show was over, leaving the venue I jay-walked (along with about 5 other people). The police nabbed three of us 6 jaywalkers. I was lucky. Pretty harsh scene. Perhaps it was due to the 4.2.1989 riots....? Hey Thanks for posting show...drove 8 hours to get to these 2 shows...great shows, but cops were real idiots the 2 days there...really freaked me out when I exited and saw all those cops in riot gear.. but thanks again for the post |
