This show is a worthy addition to anyone's collection, the sound quality is fantastic and the setlist speaks for itself. In a year that holds many stellar Garcia performances (JGB. included) 4/19/82 is certainly among them.
Check out jam after Estimated, just before Terrapin.
Actually, the whole second set is unique and kicks ass! Check it out!
i love the Truckin>Stella Blue...
Though the Raven is what gets everyone worked up, the whole show has a real energy. And don't overlook a very hot first set! One of the first shows I ever got way back in the cassette era, so this one has always had a special place in my heart. A collection w/o this is incomplete (at least if you are one of those Deadheads who didn't stop listening after 74)
This is not intended as any kind of complaint or anything - I appreciate all the work that goes into the transfers and encoding, seeding, etc. etc.
The speed seems to be off (too fast). Anyone else feel that it's a tad too fast?
I looked at the 60 Hz hum from the analog generations, and there's one spike at around 61.2 Hz, which would suggest that one of the transfers was slightly off speed, by somewhere between 1 and 1.5%.
Anyway, I'm changing the speed on mine before I burn the thing to CD, but wondered if anyone else felt that.
I prefer the Martin audience. It's at the archive.
Great sound, great show. thanks!
But i agree it does sound a little fast, how do you slow it down for burning? Help appreciated. |
