McCracken [crackmc@hotmail.com] notes: The only amplification was from the onstage monitors - as Skerik noted, they were "trying to take advantage of the acoustics" of the room, and were relying on the house P.A. as little as possible...luckily, there was very little crowd chatter, so the horns came through quite well on the recording. Disc I is a bit softer - Disc II is when the band starts to really pick it up. -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ Skerik's Syncopated Taint Septet is: -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ Skerik (tenor and baritone sax) Joe Doria (hammond organ) John Wicks (drum) Steve Moore (trombone, wurlitzer, electric piano, xylophone) Hans Tueber (alto sax and flute) Dave Carter (trumpet) Craig Flory (baritone sax) |
