| Notes | Recording Notes: Since all of the MWFM broadcasts were mono including this one, it is not of ideal quality. Also, spots of radio static can be heard, especially near the end of disc two. The last recorded MWFM song, "Sure Shot", eventually became total static where the taper was losing the radio signal, so that was faded out before it got too annoying. Disc three has the same Ben Harper set as on disc one, but an effort has been made to simulate a stereo recording. This was done by applying a phase shift to one channel, applying a very tiny offset to the other channel, applying small echo chamber filters to each channel, doing a minor parametric equalization, and then a normalization at the end. The final track on the third disc is a call-in from Eddie Vedder to a San Diego radio station concerning the canceling of the Pearl Jam dates in San Diego that were going to occur on June 26 and 27, 1995. This interview is basically a lead-in for the next show, which are the make-up dates played in San Diego. Artwork and Release Notes: This is the discs 6, 7 and 8 in a fan-created 18-disc boxed set called "The Monkeywrench Chronicles". The artwork is designed to fit a fat 3-cd "quad" style case. Special Note: A huge effort has been made to identify all the tracks that were played, with most of them successfully found, but some of them still could not be identified. These were mainly foreign language tracks and an instrumental. The MW songs that are played transcend many different styles and they are almost always from indie bands and/or by groups that are not very "popular", but they are of great caliber music. If you have any knowledge of any of the tracks marked with a "?" please send an email to spacedvest@hotmail.com, so we can correct the artwork and try and spread a corrected text file. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated! Show Notes (thanks to monkeywrenchradio.org): Monkeywrench Radio broadcasts before, during and after the show on 89.3 FM. In addition, it was planned to also broadcast from within San Jose the day before, but we can't confirm that it happened. Radio Stations, apparently pissed that they didn't get sole rights to any broadcast, pick up the signal and rebroadcast it. The kind taper who taped the pre-show, show and post-show on this day recorded six hours of material, starting from after The Fastbacks set, including Ben Harper's set, through Pearl Jam's set, and about an hour afterwards. Since the Monkeywrench Radio signal is FM and low bandwidth, this allows a DAT Taper to use the "slow speed" on their recorder and turn a 3-hour DAT into a 6-hour DAT. We know there is another source of the post-show out there, so if you have any information, please email us (at monkeywrenchradio@digijam.org). Thank you. This is being distributed by blackredyellow.com in tandem with pj.sidewalkcrusaders.com, and is part of a series of the best Pearl Jam shows in existence. If the artwork is not included, you can find it at blackredyellow.com. Compiled on 6/20/04 by spacedvest. |
