Sound quality:
There is some distortion, mostly during Mike's Groove, probably due to the microphones being overloaded, or possibly even problems with the house sound.
It is noticeable but not too objectionable. Other than that, the sound is very
good. Bass is a tad heavy, but it's pretty clean overall.
Mastering notes:
The tape flip was done precisely at the end of Gin, and restarts exactly as Dinner & A Movie starts. There might be a half a high-hat missing at the
opening of Dinner but it sounds fine. I crossfaded a few seconds of audience
noise between Gin & Dinner to smooth the transition and recreate the time lost
at the tape flip.
Faded in/out less than 1s at tape stops/starts. The master was already level-boosted for the acapella encores and is overall pretty good. I did some
limiting only on the "premature" audience cheer in Adeline which was much
louder than the rest of the song.
There's about minute of tuning that I included, but tracked separately so you
can burn the complete show on a standard 80 minute CD by leaving it out. |
