Around and Around// * taper says "Dolby Off" (not sure why) Bobby and the Midnites are: Bob Weir - guitar, vocals Bobby Cochran - lead guitar, vocals Dave Garland - keyboards, sax Alphonso Johnson - bass Billy Cobham - drums Comments: this show features some hot lead guitar from Bobby Cochran (son of the great 50's rocker Eddie Cochran, who wrote the classic "Summertime Blues"), some jazzy keyboard stylings from Dave Garland, and the talents of esteemed jazz giants Alphonso Johnson on bass and Billy Cobham on drums. Sound quality varies from excellent (sounding like an FOB tape) to good (but a bit muffled)...maybe the taper had to go 'stealth' for a few songs, or move from his original 'sweet spot'...we'll never know... |
