Audio Production Notes:
-Source cassette kindly provided by Eric Schwartz.
-Cassette > FLAC transfer by Chris Ladner .
-WAV Processing: Original source material was a second generation cassette and pretty
noisy at that. Ideally we would have the DAT and if anyone comes across one I'd be
more than happy to transfer it, but this will do for now. The final result is definitely
much more listenable athough it will be nice to get the eventual analog-free upgrade.

-The cassette was transferred as a 24 bit/48 KHz WAV file so that the subsequent processing
would be transparent. The original WAV file was subjected to this sequence of plugins
(all at 32 floating bit) while rendering to the 16 bit CD format.

-Plugin Sequence:
1. Sony Pitch transposer: The tape was pitched slow and required an increase of + 1.573 semitones using a video recording soundtrack as a reference.
2. Waves Q6 parametric EQ: Audible hum at 176 Hz selectively attenuated using a -46 dB notch filter.
3. Waves X-Noise: Frequency response curve of tape noise preceding start of master recording "learned" and subtracted at 63%.
Excessive removal was avoided to prevent coloring so there still is some hiss.
4. Spectralizer: Restoration of lost transients either absent to start with or removed by X-noise.
5. Waves L3 Multimaximizer: Boost overall levels without introducing distortion. Flat eq response curve with a threshold of -6 dB and a peak ceiling of -0.02 dB and 'hi res CD' IDR settings (16 bit / type 1 dithering / ultra shaping).
