Bill Bruford (Earthworks 2) Live at The Great American Music Hall, San Francisco 1999.01.26 This is a terrific show with very good sound, featuring pieces from "A Part, And Yet Apart" and "If Summer Had Its Ghosts", both recommended. The band also has a live CD and DVD out, so if you like this concert please buy them at: http://www.billbruford.com/ Other shows in this short series of my recordings are the early and late shows from Kuumbwa Jazz Center the previous night, 25jan99. This night, only one (longer) set was played. The 25jan shows have very different setlists; 26jan's setlist is a subset of the combined 25jan sets. All are recommended, but probably the two Santa Cruz shows are the best subset if you cannot get everything. Together they have 4 pieces that aren't played at GAMH. From my master DAT. B&K 4061 mics (glasses-mounted) -> Core Sounds battery box -> PCM-D100 DAT recorder (44.1kHz SR) -> digital coax -> Sound Forge -> Waves plugins -> CDRWIN -> Mitsui CD-Rs -> CDex (paranoia) -> Mareo -> FLAC. Burned and read via Plextor drives.
