King Crimson   06/06/1974

Tarrant County Convention Center, Fort Worth, TX
Media Flac   1 disc
Notes King Crimson 1974-06-06 TCCC Ft. Worth TX (Dualogue And The Silence Of Understanding) (T-142)

I'm the guy who recorded this show. I have the original analog cassette tapes of it. Over the years I have traded analog tape copies but until now have never done a digital transfer of it. This is the first and only time it has been digitally transferred from the original analog cassette tapes. There are a few bootlegs that exist of this show which were made from analog copies (who knows what generation they used) that I sent out in trade over the years.

Mics: (2) Sony ECM 19B >
Recorder: Sony TC-152 >
Tape: Sony CRO-90 - this is
the original analog cassette tape >
Playback Deck: Tascam 130 >
Nikko 32 Band EQ >
Akai DR16 Digital Hard Disk Recorder >
HHB CDR-800 Compact Disc Recorder >
CDR > WAV >CD Wave Editor > FLAC

I have also done the artwork for this version of this show. I really have never liked the practice of giving titles to live shows but I understand one of the reasons people do it is to distinguish between different versions of the same show. I felt like I needed to give this one a title due to the inferior versions that exist. Please keep the artwork and text file, unaltered, together with the FLAC's.

One sort of communication, which is distinct from both monologue and dialogue, is dualogue. In dualogue, while two people are talking, they are not talking with one another. There is information being transmitted, but there is no understanding. While one person is talking, the other is either trying to talk or thinking of what he will say when it is his turn to talk. During the concert it was King Crimsons turn to talk (play music). After the the show it's the audiences turn to talk. This audience at least many of the people around me were there to see Ten Years After and didn't care to listen to King Crimson. They talked much of the time and made it difficult for other members of the audience to listen to King Crimson. Even though the talking can be distracting the quality of the recording itself is excellent and the music can be enjoyed with a little effort. You have to remember that not everyone in Texas shares the same opinion as the guys that sat in front of me.

I removed a gap caused by tape flip and did a slight speed correction.
Please don't alter the sound of this recording. If you want to do something start recording shows and work from that. Don't just take what I have done and screw with it.
