| Tech Notes | From the Seeder: A Powerful audience recording, one of Zeppelin's very best, these tapes has been around for years, but some have only offerd the first disc of material, like " Kinetic Circus" by Theramin, or the copilation " Two Penny Upright" by Antrabata. These Versions that are two discs will only go up to " Whole Lotta Love" " Feelin' Groovy" ( original Version) Empress Valley " Dedicated To Dell" ( No Label) " Ipswich" (no Label) " Ipswich, 1971" TDOLZ " Over The Twelve Foot End" ( No Label) There are other versions that now have the previously missing material now " Feelin' Groovy: Definitive Edition" Empress Valley And a version called " Ipswich" that also has ( No Label) but those versions are all three disc shows, which was very unescesssary, Gusto is the only one at the moment who has put the entire tape, with the new material on two discs. I wasn't sure whether or not it was just the taper moving or soemthing else, but I now believe this show is pieced together from different tapes, all good ones though. It has a very nice flow to it. Gusto also states on it?s cover that this show is compiled of the very best sources out there. This must've been before Plant caught the bug that followed him from (11-25-71) to the Austrailian tour, he sounds fantastic, everyone?s instruments come in clear, no one is overpowered by someone else. This gig was actually played at a swimming pool, Zeppelin played on top of a temporary floor placed there for the concert. Plant makes a comment about the venue, ? I don?t know whether the twelve foot end?s this one, or that one, god help us! I?m sure you must have a town hall!? An excellent version of" Dazed And Confused". One of the rare live performances of " Gallows Pole", and Eddie Cochran?s ? Weekend?. There's really not that much disturbance in this tape, no noisy audience chatter,or nnoying taper comments, the tape fluctuations are very minor, there is a moment of really horrible feedback from the monitors before they play " Going To California",and some during " Dazed And Confused", but it's basically a perfect show. The crowd don't seem very responsive to the performance though, they're nuts, fantastic show. Enjoy. |
