"Flame Sky" is from Santana's Welcome. * d2t02 quotes several tunes Trane played including "My Favorite Thinds" (Rodgers/Hammerstein), "Chim Chim Cheree" (Sherman/Sherman), and "Follow Your Heart" (McLaughlin). Thanks to rogerinalbany for help with the setlist. Roger's post from STG: "On disc 2 track 2, there are a bunch of quotes from songs associated with Coltrane. Around 5:00 there is a discernible "Afro-Blue" section; at around 6:50 there is a brief quote from Chim Chim Cheree followed by a quote from My Favorite Things. The latter is quoted again around 9:15. The intro and outro of the song vaguely resemble Follow Your Heart in some of the chords used, but the melody is wrong and the tune doesn't resolve itself in the same way." |
