| Tech Notes | t4oo6l: "Notes: Chromelodeon is an 8 piece prog/rock band from Philadelphia, PA that plays both original music and videogame covers; they have two albums of originals and two of videogame covers. To better represent the diversity of the two styles they created an alter ego - "Sprite Slowdown." The members of Chromelodeon and Sprite Slowdown are exactly the same, but Sprite Slowdown plays only videogame covers. This show was the CD release of the band's new EP "Sprite Slowdown." The accordian player did not play with the band for this show because he broke the straps on his accordian and couldn't use it properly. The reason for the somewhat strange mic placement is that the band decided not to use the venue PA system. They set up on the floor using their own mixing board and just cranking their amps up. With 8 members spread out over quite a distance it would have been impossible to get "front of stack." I'm sure I had the perfect spot to record from and the recording definitely shows it. The soundcheck is included as track 00 only because I recorded it, and they noodled around a bit, so I figured it would be good to add in. However, if burning a copy of the show to audio CD it is perfectly fine and sounds great starting the show out with track 01 and leaving out the soundcheck. To each his own, do what you would like with the soundcheck. If you like the music, which I know you will, then check them out online for merchandise and tourdates at: www.chromelodeon.com Enjoy!" |
