Notes Decent sounding mini-disc recording. It's loud and a bit brickwalled. Maynard is far back in the mix. This has to be in part due to the location of taper, doesn't it? I know MJ is being mixed in the back on this tour, but you can barely make him out at all much of the time. The crowd is even louder than him during 46&2. Guitars and drums are dominating. Yeah it's damn loud; the instruments aren't distinct and all sort of blurring together. But I actually like this effect because what you are left with is just this massive groove pulling you through the entire hour and a half. A more primal listen. Reference 5/13/06 Chicago as a another example of this.

There isn't anything too special about the performance. Everyone is playing pretty well here. Right in Two works well as a break from all of Adam's slamming distortion. European (and South American) crowds love to clap along and yell "hey" on the strong downbeats of songs. I love this. So in Vicarious during the guitar-drum staccato break (just after "Why can't we just admit it"), a group of guys are really feeling this and get into to it - clapping and yelling "hey." Because it's in 5/4, they can't quite get the rhythm right and end up just clapping and yelling every two beats. This creates a cool little 2 against 5 polyrhythm against the band. Nothing like crowd participation! Ha. It happens again during Danny's tabla solo in right in two: clapping every two beats against the 6/4, 5/4 rhythm.
