| Tech Notes | Some notes by enchantgy: First of all: A big THANK YOU to cableguyxx for making this show available!!! A very decent audience recording! Very little hiss, so I am assuming that it was transferred from a now gen tape. You can hear some whistling, clapping and shouting, but at no time does it take over from the music. The intro cuts into I don't know quite abruptly and I suspect that it was cut that way for some reason. Overall a very solid sounding show. Randy has quite a different sound. Very clean. And he's ON FIRE! Up until the solo, Randy seems to be a bit in the background. After that the mix is a bit better and Randy can be heard clearly. Ozzy seems to be able to make most of the notes he generally has trouble with. I have never heard Randy play Cray train like this! Actually, ever time I hear a different live recording now, I hear Randy playing something differently. That alone is quite an amazing thing! His fills keep changing and always sound awesome. When his guitar cuts in on the MrCrowley, I actually got goose bumps the first time. Wow, what a sound! Now I understand why Tommy Aldridge stated that he doesn't understand why Cleveland was chosen for the Tribute release... This is an absolutely mind blowing version! There's a very small little skip at 4:19 but otherwise perfect. The audience/ozzy talk is missing between MrCrowley and Flying High again. No music missing though. Again there are little unique fills everywhere in Flying High. And the guitar-sound is amazing! As I am listening to this recording, it is slowly becoming my favorite! It's almost like you're there and Randy is standing in front of you tearing it up! sigh... The guitar sound is so up front on Revelation Mother Earth that Ozzy seems to be in the background. Just how I like it! hehe Again, the chords are bone-chilling! Randy does something during his solo that he did not do during several earlier solos. Have a listen at 6:16. He also ends his solo AND the song differently. I only wish that his solo was as long as Tommy's solo... There seems to be a bit of bass distortion on Iron Man. I doubt that it is very noticeable in normal listening circumstances. I can hear it using my headphones though. THIS RECORDING IS PROVIDED FREE FOR TRADE AND SHOULD NEVER BE SOLD!!!!! |
