Taperís notes: This was a benefit to raise funds to build a new opera house in Dallas. Elton performed solo in front of just over 2000 people. Nice greatest hits show. I used the automatic level control as I was a bit worried about checking levels in such a small venue, and I didnít want to get tossed at an event I paid a few dollars to see. I used the bass roll off because I was sitting as high up as possible and wanted to eliminate any rumble of sound cause by the room. This probably was a mistake. The automatic level was a good move as it prevented the applause from the guy next to me overloading the tape. Also, that is NOT the taper singing during Crocodile Rock. Nice quiet respectful audience, perhaps a bit too respectful, but a great performance by Elton. Tracks marked on the fly, so they are not perfect. I left in Julie Andrewsí speech, if you were to start with track 3 of disc one you would only miss a couple of words of her introduction of Elton, and thus cut out a 10+ minute speech. Enjoy.
