This source, which was just made available, is taken directly from the master tape. The sound quality is very good for an audience recording from this time period. Having said that, there were some problems with the sound of the original tape. Primarily, the mid-range was originally way too high in the frequency response. I have adjusted the frequency response and it is not more balance and sounds better in my opinion. I've also amp'ed all tracks quite a bit as they were somewhat low to begin with. The channels have been readjusted as well since they were originally unbalanced. There are a few cuts in the recording here and there but nothing too drastic. Also, the 1st track of the first disc runs faster than the rest of the show so I have repitched this track. You can tell it's correct now if you listen to the change over from track 1 to 2. The key of Killing Yourself to Live is now matched on the end of track 1 and track 2. The last song of the show, Paranoid, is significantly flawed. There is a high level of noise in some sections of this track. This anomaly is present on the source tape and could not be removed. I hope you enjoy this recording and consider it an upgrade from what was previously available. This Very good audience recording has been mainly uncirculated for over thirty years. It has surfaced in mp3 form just a month or two ago and now here you go with the real deal, straight from the master ! This was the famous Hammersmith show when the power went off for 2 minutes between "War Pigs" and "Sabbra Cadabra". The performance is thrilling as were almost every shows from the "Sabotage" tour (even if Ozzy's vocals from the beginning of the show aren't really in key due to the flu). **Remaster of Governors Remaster. |
