Recorded and ReMastered by Audioarchivist U - 101

Originally recorded with my (nearly new back then) Sony WM D3 Professional Cassette Recording Walkman using the itty-bitty stereo condenser microphone that came with it wired up to the top of my hat. I used a Sony Metal SR 90 tape recorded high bias with Dolby B on to boost highs to tape. I played this tape back on a Denon DRM 500 with azimuth adjusted to match master alignment with bias at normal and Dolby off through a Sentrek analog EQ to give the lows some presence, and further enhance the top end. A Soundblaster card in my PC recorded the EQ'd master playpack with Wavelab 4.0 for some further audio work and editing for track seperations. Another early ReMaster job of mine, this work was burned to a single audio CDR and the original data has dissappeared. I should have backed up my data, but naively didn't do that back then. This one existing audio CD was properly cleaned and then ripped with Exact Audio Copy in secure mode and sounds fine. Conversion to FLAC 6 done with Trader's Little Helper. I still own the master cassette, and perhaps an upgrade in 5.1 surround DVDaudio version or something will come one day. For now, enjoy this new previously uncirculated Jane's Addiction tape in semi-binaural stereo recorded up front in the crowd right from my master.

An unfortunate tape flip happened during Three Days, making the gap between track 14 and 15 happen. I was watching the tape run out waiting for a good place in the music to flip, and there wasn't one. I missed maximum fifteen seconds there. Other than that this is Jane's Addiction whole show.
I remember the christmas lights strung up haphazardly around the stage. Mr. Farrell was drinking a big bottle of I think red wine. As the night wore on, and he got drunker and drunker, he addressed the audience, engaged in little conversations with them or totally confronted them between songs. It was wild. The sound in the PNE Forum building is notoriously bad, and this tape is a bit sonically echo-ey, but that doesn't subtract from your enjoyment to listen, though! This is one of my personal favorite masters I've recorded. I didn't sit in my seat, but headed for the GA floor. I was 20 feet in front of the soundboard dead center just out of reach of the fringes of the mosh pit, which did threaten to swallow my pride. The PA was boomy loud but lacked definition and loudness for Perry's vocals. He was playing with digital reverb units himself on his vocals all night. The acoustics of the building also did this in a more uncontrolled and organic fashion. The band was tight despite the reported infighting amongst themselves.
