Notes sbd miller [2007-04-16]The last of the 3 night run of the "exactly perfect band" shows. Set 2 has a strong setlist on paper with a Help -> Slipknot!-> Franklin', Estimated -> Stephen-> NFA -> Drums-> Stephen-> Terrapin -> Sugar Mag and a double encore of U.S. Blues and OMSN. From the Archive (some people really like this show) "When you listen to this performance, something magical happens. You can feel that they had really put something together with this set. The happenings are ritualistic in a sense that they evoke such profound experience even if you are just lying in bed at night, on no particular night. A living time machine indeed. I dare anyone to listen to this Terrapin & say that The Grateful Dead is not truly doing something awesome for humanity. My thanks goes out......The amount of care and love you can hear coming out of this recording is just overwhelming. That's what we listen for, and you could almost always feel that coming through from the event, still alive in the recording, putting those reverberations out into the universe, but this one is just way above the usual. There is something about the way Bobby starts off saying they couldn't start until everything was just right. You can hear the band at their most precise, and powerful, right here. Amazing." My personal taste gravitates to shows where the playing is more spontaneous even if more mistake prone. But this is a solid show which the mjority of fans will rate highly and its available in both excellent aud and sbd quality!
