J-Card Comment Miles Davis with John McLaughlin
1985-7-22 Paris, La Vilette, Fr. Place des Fontaines aux Lions

Miles played twice in Paris during the You're Under Arrest Tour. Both shows where at the outdoor venue in La Vilette. The first show was on 7/6/1985, and they came back to town (Paris really seemed to be the capital city for Miles) for another one, near the end of the tour. This time with the Paris resident John McLaughlin as guest on some numbers.
By the way, I been told Pacific Express is a composition written by McLaughlin (Miles played a little quotation from this when welcome him on stage) as a present from John Mclaughlin to Miles, no matter what credits on later (posthum) releases might say. I think it is not necessary, to point out, this was a very hot event. First, this show is from the near end of that tour, which means, there is some extension in jaming, and two guitar players from the so called jazzrock times together on one stage. IT ONLY CAN BE COOKING! Sco, with the appearing guest in mind, played very hot from the begining of this show...but okay, it wasn't their private party, EVERYBODY seemed to PLAY OFF HIS ASS.
It is a killer show, A MUST HAVE! The sound is good, beside the fact, it was recorded beside the stage, close to the control monitor of the monitor mixer. So there is not the regular stereo image, but I was able to improve it. Even this is from a second generation, it is the best available quality of this show. Get it and spread it (as allways not encoded to mp 3, or other lossy formats)!!!
