[2007-03-27]Night two and the excellent sound quality continues. Highlights to me were a rare set 1 Let It Rock followed by a great version of Cumberland Blues and check out the To Lay Me Down. The set closes with a full WRS -> China Doll which to me are slow songs so the tenor of the set was song oriented for sit down listening. Set II starts with a spunky (and debut) of the electronic Phil & Ned -> Ship of Fools. Check out the jam into Ship of Fools. What an odd pairing. A standalone Black Peter is unexpected. With the band ready to do some improv we get Dark Star-> Spanish Jam-> U.S. Blues, The Dark Star is of the evolving musical theme type with lots of openness, then as Phil becomes dominate in the mix it morphs its a Spanish Jam and keeping with the nature of odd songs on this date we have an incredible musical segue into a Jam on the US Blues theme that ends up there. Definitely on the must hear list. Excellent sound, interesting and unusual segues, what more could a Deadhead ask for?
