Notes "Tomorrow You'll Be Gone..."
Tech Notes I have two versions of this great show. The first disc contains semidetached's recording, and the second is Nickeh's. The Nickeh source is stored alongside Armageddon Soundtrack's "Gourmet Muzak" demo on the same data disc.

Semidetached:

"RECORDING NOTES:
Recorded from the mezzanine, left side.
I had a HUGE problem with the levels during track one - this show was LOUD. Although it doesn't sound as bad as I would have thought, "Once" may suffer from a bit of distortion until 3:13, where I finally got the levels at a comfortable place. Due to the volume going completely silent and dropping out of both channels during the drum intro while I was fiddling, I was forced to fade in the drum intro. Luckily I got it done before the guitar came in - there was a long buildup before the vocals.

TRANSFER NOTES:
Again, concerning "Once" - I tried to fiddle with the levels bit by bit to correct this, as this is the point where I turned down my recording volume considerably. It's hard to work in the dark! Dodgiest part is 2:58-3:08.
NO EQ applied, just 3db of hard limiting to boost the overall level a bit.
About one minute cut from the encore break due to some silly comments in my mic by someone at my table. :)

OBLIGATORY SHOW TRIVIA:
SW breaks a string during "Once". Then SW breaks a string 90 minutes later... during "Once"!

TOTAL TIME: 1:21:57"

"Notes:
Well, here was a suprisingly good show. I came for Jordan Rudess, and certainly had no issues staying for Blackfield. Besides a few songs on Myspace, this was my first exposure to the band, and I was happily impressed. Everyone, especially Steven Wilson put on a great show.

The beginning of the show was taped dead center, and originally about three rows from the stage. At some point during the first half of the show I moved back about 15 yards from the stage, still dead center, and actually was able to sit on a table directly in front of the soundboard.

I had to remove some low end, as the bass came out very loud and boomy, still not great, but bearable now. The mids and highs came out spectacularly, and I'm very happy with that. Do to technically issues, several parts in the 2nd half of the show are in mono, including all of the encore. After everything else, tracks were normalized.

Please do not sell this show or convert it into lossy formats.

Enjoy!
