| Tech Notes | This a PAL double DVD of "Zappa Plays Zappa" playing The Royal Albert Hall in London UK. The video will play without problems on most NTSC standalones/TV-sets I have downloaded more than 15 audience-tapes and 2 DVD's of this specific ZPZ Europe/North America tour. I really enjoyed them all and I am proud to offer my part of the cake... Without arrogance I have the guts to say that this torrent is the best of them all... The sound part is made in a triple matrix by Roughcut and previously upped on Dime. Special thanks to him on his excellent work to combine multiple recordings. Audio: Source 1: Sennheiser MKE2>Sharp MT290>Soundforge>flac.....Recorded and posted on Dime by Youngsbest Source 2: Sony MZ-R-70 MD> Core Sound Low Sensitivity LB Binaurals> Total recorder>Fair Stars>flac.....Recorded by Evil Eye Source 3: Samsung VP130 miniDV PCM 16bit>Audio Technica Pro 24 Cardioid mic>TMPGenc>WAV>Fair Stars>flac.....Recorded by Magicroar All audio Sources > DBPoweramp > Wave > Guitar Tracks Pro 3.0 > Magix Audio Cleaning Lab > DBPoweramp>flac video: Source 1:Samsung VP130 miniDV...Shot by Magicroar from the rear-balcony(app 120m) Source 2: Digilife DDV-720 (X-vid SD camera) shot by Evil Eye from the left balcony (app 40m). B-roll video is shot with same camera For editing is used: TMPGenc, Canopus Edius Pro3 and U-lead DVD movie factory Only the second DVD is 2-angle edited, because only the 2nd set is filmed with the 2nd camera. There are some photo- and videotricks used to take away camera flaws. I hope people will understand how hard it is to shoot footage from that distance. Overall I can say this was an excellent gig/video and for me a night to remember in this historical venue. The highlights of the show were Aaron Antz playing the huge pipe organ and for me as a Steve Vai fan the gorgeous guitarsolos. I've listened and seen the "Zombie Woof" guitarsolo more than a 1000 times and never ever getting bored once. It looked almost magical to see him play like that on the stage his Master played 37 years earlier with green pants and a white Strat... At the end of the gig there was a drunk Brit standing next to the 2nd camera man shouting like a complete nut. We thought it was pretty hilarious so I left it in hoping that he will hear it some day... We were not the only one shooting footage that gig. There was a cameraman on the edge of the stage. I guess it was the same one that shot almost the complete 2005 tour of Vai. I love him shooting excellent footage and hate him that he never releases a single frame.. There was also a Brit wearing an Ibanez T-shirt shooting the complete 2nd set. When we try to contact him at the end of the gig to use his angle the man was gone. Let's hope his footage will surface someday.. Artwork is included as a Nero-file. I don't know how to export this as a JPG. Please feel free to give some suggestions to make artwork on other software. |
