Original Notes for shnid=2202 by Jeff M. and Greg Hamilton:

Known Flaws: transient static occurs throughout the first
half of disc 1; the specific cases annotated below are just
examples. It does not sound like diginoise,
but rather seems likely to be on the source reels.

d1t03 (Loser): brief static 3:02-3:06; subsecond discontinuity @ 3:49
d1t04 (Black Throated Wind): static 0:22-0:24
d1t08 cut at begining of Tennessee Jed
d2t01 cut during 15:00 minute mark of Playin' in the Band
d3t05 I Know You Rider cuts at 4:02 (rest is missing).

These flaws exist on all known to be circulating soundoard
sources of this rare show.If someone has the even rarer
aud., It would be nice to patch the rest of Rider in.

Edits by Sean Cribbs (7/2004):

--Spectral analysis revealed at least one additional analog
generation in the source lineage.
--Splice exists at the start of Dark Star (~0:48).
--A narrow band of hiss was removed from the material on discs 1
and 2 using a notch filter @ 15970 Hz / 30 db attenuation;
a second narrow band of hiss was removed from the majority of
Playing In The Band using a notch filter @ 15930 Hz / 30 db
attenuation; neither of these bands of hiss appeared on disc 3
(Dark Star through end).
--A NR filter was applied using a noise profile of pure tape hiss
obtained from dead air at the start of disc 1.
--Splice in Playing In The Band was smoothed by removing dead air.
--Other spots of dead air were also removed.
--Attenuated two clicks at the transition into China Cat Sunflower.
--Attenuated multiple clicks in Sugar Magnolia.
--All discs were retracked after editing.
--No normalization was applied.
--Spots of static noted above were minor and thus not removed.
