Source 7" two track BBD reel w/ Dolby A @ 7 1/2 ips > PCM501ES (beta) > PCM501ES analog out > Dolby A decoder > Apogee filter > analog in PCMF1/PCM501ES analog out > Fostex D5 @ 48 kHz > WBOTB Master DAT (DAT-1)
Media flac   3 discs
Notes There are two anomalous frequency peaks throughout both sets and on previous sources. The first is centered between 7 and 8K with a second between 15.5 and 16.3K. The exact frequencies varied between each song during the first set while there were only differences between reel flips in the second set. This required mastering each section with a separate Waves Q10 paragraphic eq setting with supernotch set for the involved frequencies. Also there is some degradation in tape quality around the margins of the tape flip during Wharf Rat. The flip in Wharf Rat was crossfaded. All editing and mastering was done on 24/96 file sets prior to cd-audio rendering with MBIT+.
