Tech Notes "So I've been digging through my archives looking for various things since my HDD crash in July and I came across this. I'm not sure if they would appreciate the label or not but Portrait Of A Drowned Man is a post-rock band from Duluth Minnesota that I really enjoy. I apologize but I do not know the song titles and I'm sure it's not tracked out correctly but at least it's some more exposure for a great band and a great festival.

The E&H Festival 2006 was going to be my first outing with my newly put together open taping rig, basically what I've been taping with for the past year and a half. Two nights, twelve bands, six per night in one of my favorite venues. I showed up on the 28th ready to go only to discover that I could not power up my UA-5. Long story short it came to light that one of the wires from my digital mod came lose and I had to sent it back in to be fixed. A friend had showed up with his NJB3 to get boards, knowning the event would be somewhat covered I left pretty disappointed. I came back the next night with my own NJB3, pulled 6 boards, drank a lot of Guinness and spent the night getting to know Erik the FOH at the Varsity who has been there since the start and is still there today. Very cool guy, which makes taping at the varsity even more enjoyable these days.

A Whisper in the Noise headlined this evening. Kill The Vultures, The Keep Aways, Doomtree, Building Better Bombs, Icollide, Nick Robin and Friends, If Thousands and Die Electric also made appearances at E&H 06."
