Van Halen   12/09/2007

Notes Comments/Review:

"Recorded from Row 15 - Floor Section, centre of that

row. I was only two rows away from the crescent-shaped

stage catwalk, so I got some *very* nice close-up views

of David Lee Roth and Wolfgang Van Halen!

I attended this concert exactly a week after I saw Spice

Girls in Vancouver on the first date of their world tour

(which is a story on its own, ha ha!), and I really

wanted to attend another big show to finish off 2007, and

I'd never seen Van Halen before, so I decided to get my

ticket the night before...lucked out, because they'd

released some floor section seats (Which had been 'sold

out' for a long time) before the show, so I got a very

nice seat!

This concert was a blast, although not being familiar

with most of Van Halen's catalogue, I just *listened* to

the music and enjoyed it, took it for what it was...and

awesome songs they were!
The band was very energetic. They seemed to enjoy

themselves, and David was very humourous (yet slightly

raunchy) with some of his comments, so it was a nice

change for me, having attended more 'serious' concerts in

2007 (The Police, Roger Waters, Spice Girls) previously.

Also, I couldn't help but notice how normal looking

Wolfgang Van Halen is...!
He looks like he could be any normal kid from Edmonton,

and he certainly wouldn't be out of place if he were

living here, ha! (I wish his bass was louder and more

boomy, but for someone who hasn't been playing bass long,

he's not bad at all! And I'm speaking as a musician

myself!)

All in all, was a very enjoyable concert! Enjoyed myself

Only complaint was the guy in front of me smoking some

bad cigar(ettes?)....security took his smokes, needless

to say :P

Oh and yes, my recording!

...I daresay it's my best recording in terms of quality

out of my four recordings from the concerts I'd been to

in 2007 (none have been disappointing really, to tell you

the truth!), especially in terms of quality.
And for once, I'm pleased I can actually really hear the

audience very well on my recording! (Usually, my mikes

seem to lower the audience noise!)

Anyways, that's all for my comments! (Sorry if it was too

long!)

Enjoy!
