Tech Notes I have two different sources for this show on one data DVD. Prof_stoned's master sounds particularly nice.

Taped & Mastered: Prof. Stoned

Mic position:
The mic was taped upon the FX rack of the mixing island.
That rack is 2,2 meters high, and stands next to the soundboard on the right
side (as seen from behind the desk). About approx. 12 meters from the stage.
Because the mic was not exactly in the center of the P.A., I pointed it
slightly to the left.

Notes:
First of all, thanks to ASMZ & their soundman for helping me setting up my gear.
A great memorable show this was. At least as good as Paris from two days earlier.
And the audience was really into it. Very little noise during the quiet parts.

I just saw another recording of this show at this site:
http://www.archive.org/details/asmz2006-05-02.flac16
So this is the second one to occure, and a was told about a 3rd taper who had
put his mic on the stage. Or might he be the same one as the first?
Based on the review that I read about the former recording, I'm pretty sure
that this one has a better balance between the instruments & voices.
And also no digital clipping.

Because the mic was not bodyheld or obstructed, the stereo image is consistent.
Everything is heard well, including the -not close miked- group vocals &
there's is very little unwanted audience noise.
Just one thing: Tr. 10 had to be recorded in lower dataform (meaning I switched
from Wave to Mp3 @ 192kbps ), otherwise it would have cutted off halfway.

I did some post-production. I used a bit of both multiband & full-range
compression. To make the sound somewhat more "smoother" during the loud parts,
and to make the quietest passages a little bit louder.
Also some eq-ing was done. I cut around the 370 Hz & 1 kHz w/ a medium Q using
the UAD EX, and added a touch of 60 Hz with a large Q using the UAD pultec.
The compression has been applied carefully. Limiting only to cut a few peaks.
No loud, louDER, LOUDEST macho mastering.
