Very solid audience recording, but not as nice as you'd hope for with a historic show like this. The sound is a bit muddy at times, but on the plus side it improves as the show goes on and there is almost no chatter. I'm not sure if better sources have started circulating, but even if this is all there is, it's still a great addition. The show itself is nowhere near as breathtaking as one would hope, and while it's certainly exciting to hear most of Zep dig through their classic catalog for the first time in decades, the performance pales in comparison to any gig they played during their prime. The most distracting aspect is that every song is played in an entirely different key to accommodate Robert's aged voice, so none of the tunes sound quite like themselves. Fans will still love this for what it is, just don't expect to be blown away. |
