Notes Taper's notes from dimeadozen: The Stone was being curated by Hal Willner during January 2008 and he
managed to convince Mary Margaret O'Hara to come down from Canada to do
a couple shows. The first night was an all-improv performance while the
second was to be a more proper concert. This is the second show. In fact
though, it was a pretty loose and odd performance. Mary and the band
(Rusty McCarthy on guitar and Michael Sloski on drums) played for about
40 minutes before Mary wandered into the audience to chat with a friend
before being called back for an encore of sorts. That happened twice more
times before all was said and done.

The recording is fairly rough. Got there a little late for a good seat and
ended up standing off to the side of the "stage" more-or-less even with
the PA (a pair of banged-up JBLs). The guitar and drums sound great but
Mary's voice is unfortunately muffled...but audible.

While not a particularly tight performance, it's still a treat to see
a rare concert by such a singular performer. I'm not sure of all the songs
but have managed to figure out most of them -- a nice mix of some songs
from _Miss America_ and standards and covers.
