Source details:
According to the person I got this from, this is recorded
from a 1st gen copy of the Beta master tape. According to
the story that goes with it, this was recorded by a house
camera from the left side. Yes, the camera is
definately on a tripod, and the filmer knew what he was doing
when it came to zooms (slow and steady). However, it seems
to me that a house camera would most likely have been
centered at the back of the venue, rather than stuck off
to the side. Perhaps it was someone who had permission of
the venue, or perhaps it really was the house camera; I
have no way to confirm. The video looks pretty good,
although I don't know if the 1st gen label is accurate. I
can only go by what my source tells me, but it looks to
me to be more like what you'd expect from a 2nd gen.
Either way, the picure quality is quite clear. The audio is
is from the mics on the video cam, and is therefore not
soundboard.

Production details:

I was given a copy of the source DVD which had been recorded
on a standalone DVD recorder, and asked to clean it up and
put some menues to it. I demuxed the VOB into its video and
sound components. Other than cut out some extraneous, non
Marillion related material at the end of the recording, I made
no changes to the video, and thus the video was not
re-encoded. It is exactly the same as the video I recieved
on the original disc. I did remaster the audio however, as
there were several little dropouts and other warts in the
audio. Also the audio mix wasn't that great in my opinion.
I cleaned up the sound with a parametric EQ and fixed the
other sound errors. Overall, a good video.
