| J-Card Comment | THE BEATLES STUDIO SESSIONS March 5 & September 12, 1963 Remastered Edition from Tobe Milo TMCD-4Q30, issued 2001 Lineage: original CD > Mac > .aiff > .wav > data CD > Audition 3 > CD Wave > TLH > FLAC > you In 2001, this CD appeared in the collector's market, purporting to be a Tobe Milo issue. Whether it is from the actual people who used to run the Tobe Milo label, or from someone using their name, is unclear. But it is, as the cover states, "the most complete and best quality to date" of this material. These are all the extant takes of "One After 909" from March 5/63 and the session for "Hold Me Tight (remake)" and "Don't Bother Me (remake)" of September 12/63. These recordings had appeared several times in the past, from the Condor CDs to the Yellow Dog "Unsurpassed Masters" and "Ultimate Collection" box set, but never sounding this good, and never unbroken, as they appear here. Problems repaired by me: the .wav file was opened in Audition 3, and automatic phase correction was run on the entire lot, then pitch correction. The whole disc ran slow by a whole key and a little bit. Each track now matches a digital keyboard. The finished .wav file was opened in CD Wave and track split on sector boundaries, then converted to FLAC level 8. Track listing: 1-5 One After 909 (takes 1-5) 7-16 Hold Me Tight (takes 20-29) 17-20 Don't Bother Me (takes 10-13) |
