"New Orleans' Greatest Rock and Roll Band. What do I base this on? Original material and a superb singer/frontman in Rik Slave. What do they sound like? Everything good. Think Rolling Stones meets the Ramones. Elvis meets the Clash. Roky Erickson meets Satan - I don't know - think whatever you want, this is a great band. They have tons of great original songs and SOME of them are on here. In particular, Here She Comes (a little ditty about death), My Lover (a masurbation anthem - "I'm spending the evening with my lover"), I'm Addicted (true punk rock), and Whiskey Train, something Bob Dylan could play live and get away with. Then there is the epic Mercy Of The Lord. Fear of God (Slave's a bad boy) is a steady theme for these depraved lads. For some strange reason the only place anyone knew them outside of New Orleans was/is New Brunswick, NJ. Go figure. They're worshipped there. -G2 |
