This was the first show on my last Rush roadtrip of 2008, it was actually suppose to be the last show of the tour until Indy got moved to the last spot, but that's another story. No issues on the drive up and no issues getting to the venue. The parking lot lady was even kind enough to let me park in the opposite lot than I was assigned to so I could hang out with a good friend and long time touring buddy. Well, that was the last of the good news, at least for a little while ;) After a little while of talking, next thing I know it's looking like the black plague is coming in the afternoon sky and the wind is hitting hard enough to cause spindrifts in the dirt, then here it comes....the bigtime monsoon starts up and we each head for our cars....well, it rained, and it rained, and it rained and hard! Next thing I know it's getting to be 7:28pm with an 8pm start time and the rain was still coming down....luckily a few minutes later it finally subsided enough for me to head out to go inside and after some time of nervousness if I would get in without getting drenched, I was able to do that :) As for the show itself, once I got inside and started to head to my seat, I noticed walking around the walkway above the ORCH that there was literally inches of water I was walking through and it was causing WAVES as I made each step! Down into the ORCH it was even worse, I felt like I was sloshing around in a flooded basement or something, but, it did make for a good artwork theme throughout :) The show did start quite a bit after 8pm and you could see them checking everything out, I had seen the fliers posted that they would be filming the show for possible use and what did become 4 songs on the S&A live dvd. The show was great, very nice performance all around and the sound at my location was just incredible! The crowd was also pretty good around me considering how close I was. And did I mention the sound? :) The band put on a wonderful show, Geddy mentioning the weather and that they were having a great tour, but you could also tell they were glad it was getting towards the last show. Once again, a very special thanks to siriusjoe for all his work on mastering this show! Also another thanks to Cameraeye_34 (and others) for the various photos used in the artwork! Please also remember that this show might NOT be able to be distributed in some forums due to it's nature, as 4 of the songs were filmed and added as bonus tracks on the live S&A dvd. Feel free to share it anywhere you'd like, but please do not alter this release or remove tracks if that is a requirement to share it. It was released as a complete show and should remain that way. MP3 for personal use is fine but please do not distribute in that format. Enjoy!" |
