Evil Woman(E.L.O. cover)* *Luscious Jackson during the opening set with Michael Stipe on lead vocals Notes: JEMS master recording. The show captures R.E.M. touring in support of their Monster album and is the final show of the US tour. Luscious Jackson was the opening act. This show features a few unique moments the first being Undertow which was aborted two times before they finally played the full song and Michael Stipe joining Luscious Jackson on stage to sing Evil Woman during their set. I remember being surprised by the complete lack of security going into MSG for the first time for a concert. When Stipe came out for Evil Woman he had a big frizzy afro wig on a la Jeff Lynne. Most folks appeared to have no idea it was him (he was intro-ed as Lynne) butterking for JEMS |
