Quality:
Sound varies, some distortion, but the performance does not. I'd say B+/A- audio with an A+ performance.

Aiwa CM-T7 clip-on mic > Sony D6 > Cassette Master > WAV > FLAC5. Positioned directly in front, 12' or so, of left PA stack

Notes:
In celebration of the long awaited reunion of Pavement I've finally transferred this old master.

Ah Brewstock. A sweet two day festival at Cheney Stadium (home of the Tacoma Rainiers - stage was setup along the third base line with the outfield blocked off in case you wondered) in Tacoma, WA. The first night featured Jesus Lizard as the headliner with Archers of Loaf also on the bill. The next night was in order The Posies, Presidents of USA and Pavement. The other two bands rocked but Pavement were the highlight. The weather was perfect and the brews terrific. Admission was $15 and beer was $2 - selection from one of a dozen or so booths set up by regional breweries to showcase their latest and greatest. So yeah, good beer, good weather, nice folks = a perfect day. This was Pavement's first show after being on Lollapalooza for the summer and they were clearly happy to be back on their own time. I never saw or heard a performance where they were having this much fun on stage. They played loose and the stage banter and ad-lib lyrics were classic. Perfect Depth was a rarity and Mark E. Smith even more so - that title's anyone's guess but since it pays tribute to the lead singer of the Fall, why not? Sorry for the unfortunate cuts during the unusual Best Friend's Arm coda that was tacked on at the end of Heaven is a Truck. Only missing ten or fifteen seconds there. This was my first foray into the taping thing and I made a rookie error. I was recording on a 100 minute tape and was paranoid about running out of time so decided to flip (too soon). Ended up cutting off the end of the show anyway. The last 5 minutes or so of Stop Breathin' is thus left to your imagination but there were no surprises there. Enjoy!
