The Poke Taper's Comments: 1 - HELP!! If you have any uncirculated SPIRIT shows, or better quality FM broadcasts than what's been posted here before, please share them. If you know anybody who has shows that fit this category that aren't on DIME, please dub off their stuff and share it. I'm trying to write a book on SPIRIT and need all the information I can get. I have a database of over 1500 gigs 1967-1996, and want to find as much information as I can to add to it. If you have any memories of where you saw SPIRIT, the more specific the better (venue, city, date, supporting bands, etc.), I'd love to know that as well. Please leave that in the comments section or PM me. Thank you! 2 - Show description & comments follow: "The Cellar Door" was a very small, but great room that held about 200 people packed in like sardines. Years later the DC Fire Marshal's forced to club to reduce their capacity to about 125 people. The club tried to continue, but financially couldn't do it. I believe today it houses the offices of CELLAR DOOR PRODUCTIONS, which is or was a major booking agency, if they are still around. I just read one person call this place "a dive", and it was nothing like that. If anything, it was more upscale, and there were a lot of business people in there as well for the shows. The was unfortunately the last time I saw Brand X. I took a date to see them, but I doubt she gave a shit. A good show, but not as good as the 1977 show I saw, which is already posted. I sat next to an irritating bunch of yuppies, with one guy who yelled "Percy!" about every minute. I wanted to strangle the asshole. I figure he probably worked for a member of Congress. I wasn't paying attention, and totally blew the tape flip. Fortunately it came at an area of the song, where one of you techno geniuses could fix it, and you'd never know it. Enjoy! bpthree ---------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE KEEP THE LOSSLESS!!! Support the band: Buy the officially released items, etc. Prepared by Jeff James (roryglzep@aol.com) ****************************************************************** ffp: BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T01.flac:6408571847671e5f495bfe2d7ef1dd29 BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T02.flac:6f2c0031be46fd243d48611f6d2c2621 BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T03.flac:d15d95f35f86456d473b7f6c641ada6f BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T04.flac:8b291c88c3e4b465d4cff584deb51277 BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T05.flac:14e20417bc80ebbfb9ecbba6bde38193 BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T06.flac:87532e8ea0bd81ee5bea2f9fb7bd94b0 md5: 7d8d3dc029257c9db3c9f613dad2159c *BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T01.flac 54eef48cce9684d69063a94d2302bd2e *BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T02.flac 94df574ed804644e3d9b6081ebabdb02 *BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T03.flac 4e65da80ebc9bd9d6a8940aefad0167c *BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T04.flac 65de038a2654f93234b3e0fbae1dd070 *BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T05.flac f6b5fea1a160c0a3c7347638cb1a79e6 *BrandX1978-07-23ecm16(1st-show)T06.flac |
