comments:
this completes the Boston Brand X trilogy. The 1st time, a quartet with no guitar. The
second time they brought 2 guitarists, since Goodsall didn't feel up to playing a whole
show. The third time, it was what most of America saw of Brand X 1978, a 5 piece band with
Mike Miller, without Goodsall. Both these recordings are complete (except 1 flip cut each
show about 46 minutes in.) and no major problems this time, although I still had cheesy
mikes at least this time I had 2 of them. Mismatched for sure, probably the same ones for
both shows, and in keeping with the tradition of variety (this and that productions was
good at that too) of Brand X Boston 78 concerts, the 1st 2 were done on TDK-AD, the 10/24
was on Maxell UD, and the 25th on TDK-SA. I think the tape quality is very similar on all
the recordings. You're getting them all from my master tapes, being reseeded with some
corrections and song titles as part of another conjoined twin torrent seperation surgery
from glasnostrd19. This time they're coming seperately, for a faster download.
(The quartet shows are in a seperate torrent already posted).
Each of these shows runs about 100 minutes or so. They are both complete, very similar
quality, and both from my master auds, seeded for the first time on 2/28/08. This is my
first reseed for this one. the sound files are unchanged.
I like to upload a variety of bands and recently upped the August shows although some
folks have waited long and patiently to hear these from a master seeding. So the waiting
is over. Now everyone can hear the Brand X some got to hear, patched and reworked,
slowly getting the wagon wheel out of the muck, past that brutal Goodsalless and Coping
period they had while the rest of America got to see the REAL Brand X (in 77 and some
also in 79- Boston got Neither, because our stage was too small to fit Pert and Dennard)!
This is John Goodsall on the comeback trail from tendonitis, but he manages to play a
few songs.
do not sell this recording.
(Goodsall is "jonesing" for dollars enough already.)
Trade freely and losslessly.
Even if it is sortakinda Brand X.
