Filmed in high definition recorded live on april 29 & 30, 2002 at the Louisville Palace in Louisville, Kentucky. This Palace theatre where the performance takes place is especially beautiful and adds to the charm of the performace. Alison is physically beautiful and has a wonderful singing voice. It's not just for bluegrass fans either, as proven by Krauss's crossover success on the smash movie soundtrack of O Brother, Where Art Thou? as well as her pop-oriented hits such as "Now That I've Found You." That song plus "The Lucky One," "When You Say Nothing at All," and others are the perfect showcase for Krauss's meltingly gorgeous voice, and admirers of the concert's will also find out how funny she is in her between-songs banter. AKUS has never been all about Krauss, however, so there are also instrumental jams plus featured spots for other members, including Dan Tyminski on O Brother's rousing "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow." Perhaps the only disappointment is that two songs from the CDs are not included in the concert: "Down to the River to Pray," which is heard over the end credits but not shown on stage--presumably because the CD version was not taken from this 2002 Louisville show--and "There Is a Reason." --David Horiuchi DVD Features: Product Details Format: Color, Dolby, DVD-Video, Live, Special Edition, Widescreen, NTSC Audio Format: Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, DTS 5.1 Surround Sound Language: English Region: All Regions (ALL) Aspect Ratio: 1.78:1 Rating: Not Rated Studio: Rounder Records, Nashville DVD Release Date: July 15, 2003 Approximate Running Time: 116 minutes (disc 2 not included) Track Listing: 01.
