Geetarz Comments: Okay, we're talking "essential", right? After the success of the late 1980s and early 1990s - especially "Unplugged" - EC was finally free to pursue his passion, blues! After testing the waters with some "all blues" nights at the Royal Albert Hall, and then the mixed blues/pop/rock sets from 1993, in 1994 it was time to jump in all the way. After a long summer arena tour with a setlist consisting only of his favorite blues numbers, in early November Clapton set out on a mini-tour of not arenas, not sheds, but small clubs - the places where this music was born, and meant to be played. |
