| J-Card Comment | First 40 seconds of audio is from one of the videocams - after that it's all Earlehead's audio. There are some phasing/fluctuation issues in the first few minutes of Earlehead's audio, but after that it sounds great. This audio has some really nice, heavy hitting bottom end - but zero distortion or muddiness. This really gives the audio - especially during the distant shots - a full bodied feel that fits perfectly. This is different from most other 2012 Van Halen DVDs in that it has a distant angle that is tripod steady, always in focus, and shot at the correct exposure level. The side angle is also well filmed and has perfect exposure. One really nice aspect of the side shot is that because of the angle, even when zoomed in, it often includes more than one band member. And the third angle (Steecoe) is nicely filmed front row shot. This is sourced 100% from the original HD files - there is no Youtube content. |
