Taper's Comments:

1 - HELP!! If you have any uncirculated SPIRIT shows, or better quality FM
broadcasts than what's been posted here before, please share them. If you
know anybody who has shows that fit this category that aren't on DIME, please
dub off their stuff and share it. I'm trying to write a book on SPIRIT and need
all the information I can get. I have a database of over 1500 gigs 1967-1996, and
want to find as much information as I can to add to it. If you have any memories
of where you saw SPIRIT, the more specific the better (venue, city, date, supporting
bands, etc.), I'd love to know that as well. Please leave that in the comments
section or PM me. Thank you!

2 - Show description & comments follow:

Here's the grandfather of rock n' roll doing a fine set, complete with all his moves
(duck walk, rubber legs, guitar as penis, etc.). Since Chuck rarely toured with a
band, I suspect the rhythm section here are LA session musicians. By the looks of
them, they're likely fresh off an Andy Williams session, but who knows?! If you can
identify them, please do. This is the only time I ever saw Chuck play a piano, and he
does well. Picture quality is fine, but a little grainy, which was very common on analog
TV broadcasts from this time frame. God bless my old Betamax for capturing this for
posterity, as it doesn't look like the Kirshner vaults will ever open up for an official
release of this, or any of the other shows. I taped this in 1981 during Kirshner's last
season, and it was a repeat of an earlier show. I suspect it would have been prior
to the purchase of my Betamax in late 1977. Enjoy!
