Electric Circus, Manchester, England
Source Audience
Media CDR   1 disc
Notes DVD 2884; lineage: Audience recording. Transferred from a vinyl copy of 'Take It Or Leave It', recorded to CD and cleaned up on PC, using some Sound Laundry to remove the surface noice, then some EQ to reduce the tape hiss. BBE Enhancer to increase the bass and treble very slightly and L3 Multiband compressor to lift everything a bit louder and make a more consistent sound. J-Card Comment This was the first bootleg recording of The Clash to be issued and marketed.

After acquiring this recently posted on Dime by n0xious, I noticed there were bits missing.
Which is odd because the copy I have on cassette was recorded from the same vinyl bootleg title
as the above, that a friend of mine had 35 years ago. I also recall it having the same artwork
that was included in the n0xious torrent. It got me wondering whether there were two pressings
of the bootleg, though that's highly unlikely. It's also from the same source so the mystery continues.
Anyway, so what we have now is a complete recording with the missing end of 'Police And Thieves',
plus 3 further missing moments of importance.
The n0xious transfer sounded slightly better than my tape copy, so using the missing parts from that tape,
I made some slight pitch adjustments to match speed, some minor adjustments to match sound quality,
then made seamless edits to create this complete uncut version...

I've included the original artwork, plus new artwork I made for this version, based on the old.

A summary of added audio:
20 seconds before track 01 (Joe's intro)
47 seconds inbetween tracks 06 & 07 (guitar tuning, a song request, Joe's 'Slits' comment)
18 seconds inbetween tracks 08 & 09 (Joe's infamous 'wog' intro)
1 minute 1 second ending on track 09 (previously missing?)
