Here's another Gem from Ken's collection. Quite unique and special in fact due to the line up.

This is Set One Only

Set Two was not recorded

The Pipes Headlined this night. Opening act was Richie Havens !!!!

Does anybody know this band? Please let me hear your stories.

I would refer to this band as a short lived Semi Super Group.

This band did not record an album and their gigs were few.

My guess is that they only played live in the New York area.

There was nothing i could find on the internet on this group "The Pipes".

Here is the band members and most notable credits to date.

I recognized Anton's work resume the most.

Drums - Anton Fig

Guitar - Sid McGinnis

Lead Vocalist and Guitar - Terence 'Blondie' Chaplin

Bass Player - Unknown

Nothing known for certian about the bass player. It's possible that it was Keith Lentin on bass. He is assocaited with Fig and Chaplin.

Anton Fig (Drummer) Was as the drummer on Ace Frehley's 1978 solo album. Fig played drums on all but one song on Kiss's 1979 album Dynasty and the entire 1980 album Unmasked. Fig was also a member of Ace Frehley's solo project Frehley's Comet from 1984 to 1987. Anton was a member of the band called Spider and played on both their releases in 1980 and 1981 and played with Shanghai on their 1982 release. Other artists with whom he has worked include Bob Dylan, Warren Zevon, B. B. King, Peter Frampton, Joan Armatrading, Cyndi Lauper, Link Wray, Robert Gordon, Joe Bonamassa, Beth Hart and Kix. This just scrathes the surface of his session work. Lets not forget the time spent playing on The David Letterman Show Band since 1986. I don't watch that show, so i don't know if Anton still plays there.

Sid McGinnis (Lead Guitar) is an American musician and guitarist, best known for his work on the Television show, Late Show with David Letterman since 1984. Outside work, McGinnis has toured and/or recorded with numerous artists including Warren Zevon, Ashford and Simpson, Barry Manilow, Peter Gabriel, Carly Simon, Dire Straits, Robert Fripp, The Sisters Of Mercy, Cool It Reba, Laurie Anderson, David Lee Roth, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, Simon & Garfunkel and others.

Terence William 'Blondie' Chaplin (Lead Vocals and guitar) first became known to international audiences through his brief stint in the early 1970s as a singer and guitarist for The Beach Boys. Blondie Chaplin joined the Beach Boys when original drummer Dennis Wilson suffered a hand injury that left him unable to play the drums for almost two years Chaplin is known in recent years as a long term backing vocalist, percussionist and acoustic rhythm guitarist for the Rolling Stones on their tours. Chaplin toured and did studio work with the David Johansen group. During the late 1980s Chaplin toured with The Band, replacing some of Richard Manuel's vocals and playing guitar and occasionally drums. He was guitarist and vocalist on Paul Butterfield's last studio album, released in 1986. Chaplin was a featured player in former Byrds members Gene Clark and Michael Clarke's new band, Chaplin is the vocalist, songwriter, and lead guitar player with Skollie, a band formed with fellow South Africans Keith Lentin on bass and Anton Fig on drums. Chaplin has released three solo albums, most recently Between Us in 2006.

This band/group probably only played together for a very short time period.

This live recording is the only one I've ever heard about.

If any Dimers have any info and knowledge of seeing them perform, please tell us your stories.

This is a Very Good to Excellent Recording.

Track 04 (Tape Flip / cut and 3:15 mark)

Check out samples and chime in with any set list corrections.
