2nd British Rock Meeting Open Air Festival. 24 bit remaster of "Germersheim 1972" LP roio professionally word length reduced for CD format.
You ONLY want this if you have no way of listening to the 24 bit version. 24 bit digitising and reducing to 16 bit is the profession technique for CD mastering. It really does sound better than digitising to 16 bit.
Reduced to 16 bit with Apogee UV-22. No limiting to raise the level; all loss on the low end of the dynamic range (the top end was well controlled in the 24 bit master; there were no stray peaks that went way above the average level - so this was the best sounding option). The fact that the 24 bit version is released technically makes this a lossy copy.
