Tracked by kingrue upload 874 ................................................ Black Oak Arkansas opened, followed by Iron Butterfly and then Mountain. This one seemed rather rare. I found a review from someone that attended. Friday - August 2nd ..... Valley Forge Music Fair ..... Devon, PA Once again, I did not let an opportunity pass, to see these great rockers perform. I've had the pleasure of catching their act every year for the past four years and each time I've fully enjoyed myself. Overall, the entire show was very good. Black Oak Arkansas opened the night and they were as raunchy as ever. We didn't know what to expect, but were pleasantly entertained. (Jim didn't stop scratchin') Next up was Iron Butterfly. I'll admit, I'm not really up on their stuff, but they did an outstanding job. Their rendition of "Inna Gadda Da Vidda" got a huge "pop" from the crowd and was one of the top songs of the night. Mountain was next, and to be honest, we didn't care for them very much. Their last song was predictably "Mississippi Queen" and we thought it left something to be desired. Each of the three warm-up bands got in about 3 - 4 songs in about 20 - 25 minutes. (These were the shortest sets I've ever witnessed.) Well, Foghat was well worth the wait! They opened with "Fool For The City." Next was "Louisiana Blues," followed by "Stone Blue," "Motel Shaker," "Honey Hush," "It Hurts Me Too," "Sweet Home Chicago," "I Just Wanna Make Love To You" and as an encore, "Slow Ride." "I Just Wanna Make Love To You" and "Slow Ride," gave the crowd it's biggest thrills and that's what you would expect. The Band seemed to really enjoy themselves on stage. I noticed that Tony Stevens seemed more relaxed than the last time I had seen him. He really was having fun, playing with the crowd. Dave was his usual, but he especially cracked me up when he commented about the revolving stage. He said something to the effect, "Is it me, or is the building moving around? I'm getting dizzy up here!" Well, Dave was also on target with his bright red high top Converse. What else better symbolizes the seventies? The group's set lasted about 70 minutes and of course, it seemed too short. I'm just glad that I had a chance to be there. I treated myself to a "Boogiemen" T-shirt and it looks great! Hey, if anybody out there has a chance to catch these guys perform, don't pass it up! --- A fan since '76 - Warren M. Baer Lonesome Dave - guitar, vocals Tony Stevens - bass Roger Earl - drums Rod Price - slide guitar The first song starts in progress. It appears that the encore 'Slow Ride' wasn't recorded, or at least it wasn't on the cd I have. I didn't realize that when I was making my notes. I assumed I had the whole show. samples provided. 01 Fool For The City 02 Louisiana Blues 03 Stone Blue 04 Motel Shaker 05 Honey Hush 06 Band Introductions 07 It Hurts Me Too 08 Sweet Home Chicago 09 I Just Want To Make Love To You Total Time = 64:47 min enjoy George ...............................
